Now she has been sued for defamation by those who sent the threats.

(Please ignore the "trainwreck" mentioned in the title, because this is bad enough on its own.)

Quote
"Our so-called 'threats' were just small pranks, and not much different than things you see on the Internet every day," he said. "If I was receiving these death or rape threats online I would have just brushed them off because I'm clearly more mature than her."

"But she crossed the line, though, by telling my mom about it," he added. "Something you learn at a very young age is to never be a tattle tale. She obviously missed that important lesson."

a) Well maybe there is something wrong with the stuff you see on the internet every day.

b) Being a "tattle tale" is worse than sending rape threats? Please tell me that Australia still allows parents to spank their kids... Actually since the parents are siding with the kids some family time in the stocks by the marketplace might be good for all of them...

Get a big one so that they can all sit together:
No matter what happens, no matter what my last words may end up being, I want everyone to claim that they were:
"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."
Aww, you guys rock. :)  I feel the love... and the pitchforks and torches.  Tingly!

The best case scenario is that the initial charges are laughed out but the boys end up facing legal reprecussions for threatening sexual assault.

Thank goodness it's not real!

You have to be careful where you get your articles.

Also, those parody news sites are all over the place and their satire isn't so overt at first glance. They basically WANT people to click, get outraged & deceived. They're not so much "parodies/satire/humor/*ha ha*" but rather "hoaxers/pranksters/trolls".

I read an article talking about how a lot of these are actually money-making/clickbait schemes rather than legit "news parody". They're often heavy with ads, slow webpages and have only a few articles.

Sadly, many real news outlets fall for these things. One has to be REALLY careful, these days.

Incidentally, you can never find good quality Simpsons clips on Youtube anymore.
