The references the letter uses are from sites or opinions that lean in favor and sympathy for Putin and against "the global conspiracy" working against Putin.

A "Tatiana Romanoff" had a Facebook page for this, but has been deleted.  Most of the people who are sincerely passing this around are the pro-Putin and average run of the mill anti-global conspiracy cranks.

I'll apologize to Putin.  For not being able to shove a pickaxe into his spine.  Perhaps I'll get the chance to correct that grave error, one day.
