I guess he has some standard or he understood the hypocritical nature of not supporting rights for everyone. "All men or created equal" not "all men created equal but some more than others" tripe that seems to be filled in the conservative mindset these days.

I have a family member who filled his twitter up with support for Ron Paul. But if you ask him he will tell you that, even though he disagrees religiously, marriage is a legal institution and that it's wrong to bar gays from participating.

Here's to conservatives who occasionally get it.

Whatever his reasons... if the laws become fair that's all good.

From what I heard conservatives in Europe are like Democrats in the USA.

Too bad Ron Paul doesn't. (He supported DOMA as well as a bill that would prevent the Supreme Court from hearing cases regarding DOMA's constitutionality.)

I like Jon Huntsman but apparently being relatively scientific and reasonable is the kiss of death in the GOP.

Does he really mean this or is he just trying to get more votes?

Like I said, I don't care. Had George W. Bush established gay marriage on the federal level, I would have... well, still thought he was a fool and douche, but one who gave us gay marriage. So there would have been that, and I could have merely disliked him strongly instead of lamenting the lack of prosecution for his presidency.

If he was doing it to get votes, he would do it in 2014, not 2012. I think he genuinely means this. He's not all bad.
