Okay, so this is going to sound weird, but bear with me. I was walking home from the grocery store, and there was a topless woman walking down the street. That's not what I'm considering the "good thing" for the day, since she was clearly high as fuck and taking advantage of something like that, even peripherally, makes me uncomfortable. What astounded me was, I am in a very busy part of LA, and there are tourists everywhere. None of them cared at all that this woman had her breasts out in public, even with the number of children around. I'm considering this a good day because it seems like a sign that our culture, at least in some parts of the country, is loosening up a bit and not getting so worked up over exposed skin.
Her3tik, you have groupies.

There are a number of ways, though my favourite is simply to take them by surprise. They're just walking down the street, minding their own business when suddenly, WHACK! Penis to the face.

This could go either here or in the Things That Annoy You thread, but since it ended well, I'll be optimistic about it.

I spent the better part of 24 hours on the phone and online chat with my cable company trying to find out why my cable was out and my internet was barely working. Anyway, long story short, after a long drawn out pain in the ass, I've got everything reconnected...

... with a lower monthly payment and more than twice the internet speed.

Minor success, but one that I am internally gloating about.

I have done live action role-play based on White Wolf's New World of Darkness system for about 3 years. About a year and a half ago, I started a new character in the vampire venue. I put in an application to play a particular bloodline, which is known to be insane. However, the character himself does not know he is of this bloodline, believing he is a completely different type of vampire. (He is a Malkovian who believes he is a Meket.) The description of Malkovians say they are not normally welcome in most of the vampire groups because of their insanity, but it also says some are accepted. I wanted my character to be in one of the groups that do not normally take Malkovians, but justified it by pointing out that no one (including him) would know in-character. (Ordo Dracul)

The local story-teller refused to approval my application as long as I wanted to put him in play as a member of the Ordo. Faced with "ditch the character" or "bring him into play not as a member of the Ordo," I agreed to bring him in Unaligned. At that point, my application was approved. The ST told me I could join any covenant in-game, so long as I RP-ed actually joining.

A few months later, the venue I was playing in (an IRC game, since there was no game where I lived) died due to lack of players. I kept my Malkovian in the database on the hopes I would get to play him again.

My fiancee and I moved to DC in May, and there is a very active game here. So out came my Malkovian and back into play he went. Only the ST, my fiancee, and I knew he was not actually a Meket. (One friend has since been told as well.) In the 4 games since, I have actively RP-ed him meeting with members of the Ordo and going through the initiation. Last night, he was accepted as a member of the Ordo and as a member of a faction of the Ordo (Dying Light).

As I RP-ed my way and then was accepted, all I could think was "[ST's name], you can [perform a sexual act on me]. Ordo won't take a Malkovian, my [rear end]. Scott is an Ordo and I did it, you [jerk]."

Had a lovely day today. Went to boyfriend's house, got my period (which is good because it means I FINALLY started my birth control pills), had boyfriend give me back rubs because my period cramps manifest as back pain, watched Batman Begins and The Dark Knight because I'd never seen them and Dark Knight Rises comes out this week, and had delicious foods and mint Oreos. So. Awesome day.

I got slung with jury duty. At first I was pissed off to the nth degree, but it turns out they're going to pay me a ridiculous amount of money for it. $104.75 per day for the first ten days and any subsequent days will net me $235.65 per day. They've got me on a six week trial too, that's over eight grand in total.

That is just fucking fantastic, I'll finally have the money to build my gaming rig and then some. That also means I can start doing some Let's Plays. New South Wales state government, I love you so much right now.

My two coworkers, who run the ovens, both admitted that they prefer when I mix bread than when either manager does, since not only is my bread easier to bake, but I organize everything so they can bake it all easily, rather than moving crap around for an hour like they do when the bosses mix.

Next week, one of the bakers is on vacation, so I'm helping with the ovens.  I mentioned wanting to bake the day after I mix and the other baker claimed that's not fair.

I felt pretty good about that.

Went to see a friend whom I haven't seen in over a month tonight, and wound up making several new friends. One of them is a gorgeous redhead who loves metal and bars with open jam nights. I am going to see her tomorrow night and give her a copy of my band's demo, and try really hard not to fuck this up and friendzone myself. I smiled for so long on the way home that my jaw hurts.
Also, sent out my band's first t-shirt shipment (you know who you are ;)).

It has been a good day.

And today, I met Periphery. They are my favorite band ever. They signed the CD I brought :D
