I would rather like to get my hands on either Pokemon Black or White, but they're rather expensive at this time. Damnit DS games, y u no reasonably priced?

Scratch that, Platinum looks to be both cheaper and better (seriously, that seasons mechanic in Gen V can fuck right off). I must say this sounds rather promising.

Ever played Diamond/Pearl? If yes, you'll be pleased to see the improvements Game Freak made in Platinum, I'm sure.
Ok seriously, is nobody even going to try and avenge my man-burrito?

I haven't played any Pokemon games later than Emerald, though according to Bulbapedia, there don't seem to be any major mechanics based on the real-world time in any way, shape or form, which is certainly a vast improvement over Gold/Silver/Crystal.

I ended up giving Diamond to my friend because I like Platinum better.  I don't remember why except that Platinum has the entire Battle Frontier.

Also, battles in Platinum don't take a million years.

That's my new desktop wallpaper now.

In other news, just this afternoon I managed to beat House Of The Dead 4 in a nearby arcade, again. The Star is a bitch to kill.
Ok seriously, is nobody even going to try and avenge my man-burrito?

The Ultima series has some really cool art associated with it, I particularly like the Ultima Underworld cover artwork (Well, I do have it as my avatar and signature :P)

Yeeeeeeeeeeees.  I want this armor, too:

(Also, I like how the box art for UW1 made the Avatar look like Conan the Barbarian, lol.)

From the neck down, that demon is dead sexy.

From the neck up, that demon is just... dead.  ._.

Correction, Zacky.  Gargoyle, not daemon.  Actually a common misconception characters have in-game...  Considering its the installment in the series that deals with fanatic, reactionary racism...actually appropriate.

Speaking of Ultima, which game in the main series would be a good first one to play? So far my only experience has been both the Underworld games.

I'd say Ultima IV.  You could start with the first one, The Age of Darkness, but Quest of the Avatar is where the proper Avatar gets his start, as the name suggests.
