Boehner was anything but sensible and pragmatic. He was a radical extremist, bringing a new low to Congressional brinkmanship and strategic sabotage. His hackery was limited only by the bounds of possibility - and Teabaggers blamed his adherence to those limits on him. If there's one thing Teabaggers hate, it's reality after all.

In many ways, Boehner's political death is poetic justice. He created and enabled this sort of magical thinking as a political strategy, and it destroyed him.

The party's name is the Democratic Party. It has been since 1830. Please spell correctly.

All things are relative, Fred. There is much worse wandering our hallowed halls than Boehner.

There hasn't been a worse speaker of the House since the war. Boehner is far and away the worst and most destructive Speaker in half a century, by a long way. I dare you to find a worse one before it, either.

If things aligned differently, we could have had Speaker Louie Gohmert.

Going by a recent huffpo article, his retirement from politics was brought on by Pope Francis' words. Some sort of alleged realization.

If and when that happens, God help us all.
