A Pathfinder fan recently came out as transgender and struggled through the regular issues. Wesley Schneider of Paizo sent her a message, asking if they could help make a hard time easier.

Wesley Schneider's response.

I've been a fan of Pathfinder for a long time due to how well they've improved on D&D 3.5, and now I have even more reason to keep my loyalties. This comes around the same time they announced a new iconic character was transgender as well.

I may not like the d20 system, but I've always loved the PF artwork (props to the dwarven ranger. Dude's beard is probably CR16 on its own!) This story cements PF as much better than DnD 4, and an equal to 3.5 in terms of total freedom of action and open-mindedness.

The guys at Paizo have my vote. They rock.

but d100 system is still better and easier to grasp
@ guizonde: I think I like the way you think.

I got over the 3.x engine years ago; give me 4E or 13th Age any day.

But this makes me very glad I spent $80 on some Paizo miniatures last week.

These guys are a class act.

My friends have been badgering me to try out PF... I think this has just cinched it.  It's always nice to find another tabletop game I can enjoy!

I prefer 3.5 because it has more content, and therefore more options, but good on you Paizo. I might just let peoplepick an issue of Dragon magazine to use in my next 3.5 campaign. The guy wh always plays Sorecrers will go for #333, no doubt.

Pathfinder is my game of choice and will always be my game of choice.  It's 3.xx for a reason.  And with the new content that was just released, which this lass hails from, it's a pretty good time to get into it.

Ironbite-honestly when they did the Iconic reveal for the Shamen class and it's a transgendered dwarf, my mind went "whoa!  That's awesome!"

/tg/ talked about this and apparently one of the new Pathfinder characters (They have one character per class, apparently as an example character / mascot.) is transgender.

Cue in a mob of complaints about SJW taking over the franchise.

Because somehow the n+1 characters that were cis-gender and perhaps even heterosexual ceased to exist or were corrupted by the presence of a trans dwarf or something.

Meh, I think it was a good think just for representation even if I think that trying to make a 100% accurate match of genders and sexualities is counterproductive and silly.

Most of Pathfinder's Iconic characters are in fact...bisexual.

Ironbite-the Iconic Cleric and Rouge are in a lesbian relationship with one another.

But, DURRR!!! girl on girl is hot, trans is gross!

Seriously, though: people will tolerate lesbians just because they want to sexualise them but gay trans and male bisexuals will cause a lot of complaints from bigots.

Wizards, clerics or bards because they all learn how to write. (Well, maybe some of the bards that are skald like learn just by memorizing the songs and notes rather than reading them.)

That's  nice of them.  I never played Pathfinder, but we do have the board game, "Kill doctor Lucky," which the company released.
