Who has seen it and what do you think?
-
Fuck yeah Sherlock!
That is all.
But yeah, it's one of the best things on tv at the moment. Actually has a smart plot, well written characters and seems pretty faithful to the original works whilst remaining its own beast. Plus it's done by Stephen Moffat.

I love the Holmes/Watson. Guy Ritchie's is almost a little too gay: they set Sherlock up as a flamboyant sort of person instead of the stoic he is in the books. This Sherlock is more asexual, and the constant ribbing at the fangirls is beautiful

I'm still torn over which Holmes/Watson duo I prefer. Probably leaning a bit more to the films as I find Jude Law's Watson a bit snarkier and Robert Downey Jr is just a fantastic actor.
The films probably win out for me overall due to Game of Shadows having Lord/Saint/Immortal God-Emperor of Mankind/National Bloody Treasure Stephen Fry in.

Best thing on the BBC since 'The Hour' - Cumberbatch and Freeman work perfectly as the best Holmes/Watson pairing apart from Brett/Hardwicke, the script zings like nobody's business and the camerawork is brilliant - the icing on the bun though is Mark Gatiss as Mycroft, makes the roll his own,and the Sherlock/Mycroft relationship is hilarious.

It's brilliant, one of the best things to get done by the BBC for years. After Spooks lost its steam, I thought all I had left was Dr Who, now I see the BBC going from strength to strength with this. My hope is that it's the start of a welcome return of outstanding drama instead of the kak they produced in the '90's.

I enjoyed both movie and television versions.
Both pairings seem to have a good dynamic - perhaps I prefer the RDJ/JL for its sheer outrageousness, it certainly inserts some energy into the telling of the story.

Having said the above, last night's 'Hound of the Baskervilles' was a cracking (Cumberbatch/Freeman) reinterpretation.

The Reichenbach Fall is tomorrow.
Tumblr is shitting bricks.

...I thought this thread was about Game of Shadows.

HOLY FUCK THE REICHENBACH FALL. Wow. Holy shit.
Yes, I think it's safe to say I really love this show.
-
Yeah. Saw it. Reichenbach, I mean.

Moffat pre-second series: "There'll be a third series. If he survives."
Moffat post-second series: "Yes of course there's going to be a third series - it was commissioned at the same time as the second. Gotcha!"
MOFFAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!
