Well, I finally got off my ass and took some more pictures. Most of them are of the ruins of that barn from before, because it was chilly and I was lazy and didn't want to walk around too much, and it's right there. Spoilered in groups of five for size.

Hey guys I think I found the IRL version of the Christmas Tree from Peanuts.

Behold! The saddest tree!
The saddest tree stick? Twig?
Links because serious high quality images.

Also, flowers and chewing gum. See if you can spot the gum.

Remember when cellphone cameras were universally shitty and impossible to take seriously? I think those days are gone.  (also this isn't as nice as it could be, it's literally what I see outside my window right now, taken, er, through my window.

I kinda forgot about this thread  :-\

A few I took in Australia (I've more pics from there, I just haven't gotten round to processing them yet).  BTW, if there are any Aussies on this board: your country is fucking amazing, how do I get to live there?

Edit: Bagh, compression has killed sharpness again :(

That water is so beautiful! Makes me think of an image from a game rather than real life because it looks so perfect.
Guys, this is getting creepy. Can we talk about cannibalism instead?

That's Green Island, off the coast of Queensland, on the Barrier Reef.  Queensland is rediculous, if you haven't been you should go.  Seriously, everyone go visit Queensland ASAP.  I spent nearly 3 weeks with my mouth wide open and I've never been so pissed off at having to go back home in my life.  I actually looked into emigrating there.  Sadly I don't have any of the job skills that makes that process easier, I'd need to find an employer to sponsor me to move.

Only down side: 22 hours on planes is not fun.

Australia's definitely near the top of my list for overseas traveling. I'd love to visit Queensland.

Do it, do it now!  When I arrived it was technically still winter there, and I was swimming in an unheated out-door pool AT NIGHT and I didn't end up in hospital.  Where I'm from there aren't many days in the fucking summer where I'd be able to go swimming in an unheated out door pool during daylight hours.  And it's a developed, 1st world  country with a rainforrest, there's not too many of those about.

And then there's this place, where my sister got married in Queensland - http://tinyurl.com/npygvum

Considering that it's Australia, you're more lucky that the pool didn't have any microscopic, instantly fatal jellyfish in it. Or an invisible shark. Or spiders.
Still can't think of a signature a year later.

Well it was a swimming pool, someone would had to have put jellyfish in it.

I actually saw very little evidence of spiders and other nature-wants-you-dead type animals while I was there.  Didn't see any spiders at all in fact, just two webs but they've got a lot of (harmless) ants in Palm Cove.  Deaths from sharks, spider bites and what not are apparently quite rare, though shark attacks have been on the icnrease on the south-weat coast.

It also seems like the majority of Australia's wildlife is lying dead on the side of the road.

Seriously, I've never seen so much road kill.  It's insane.  And with things like partially decapitated kangaroos it's also quite disturbing sometimes.
