You know, I use my kids for my own selfish purposes all the time. If I want to get out of, say, a family event I can say I'd love to but one of the kids is sick. Or I'll pinch a baby when waiting for the car to get fixed or something. I've used them to get the local power company over to fix my furnace. But there has to be a line between piddly crap and dumbfuckery.

I recall reading about pro-lifers who'll tote their brats to abortion protests outside of clinics to basically use as props. I think the French are just taking this a step further and...it frightens me, honestly.

Fred, I didn't even read chitoryu's sister's comment as being in regard to WW II, but her being aghast that any French people would be so ignorant as to not only be fighting against gay rights, but even being upset about it at all in the first place. It is a nation with a great history of breeding some of the best philosophers of modern era, after all.

If indeed she was making an offhand, ill-informed joke about the war, well, that is her problem, and she should consider correcting it be reading up on history. But, she is not a member of this forum. So, nu? Chillax, 'k?
