Except I've forgotten that for every "She's So High" or Pearl Jam's version of "Last Kiss" there seems to be five "MmmBop" or "Macarenas". The 90's were highlighted by boy bands and one hit wonders, after all.
It could be worse. Be thankful you didn't spend the first several years of your life in the 70s, when disco music was king. *painful wince, shudder*

Okay, I was going to say Roy Orbison but his very best stuff happened the decade before and the decade after. *thinks* Um, the Eagles? I'll admit to having a fondness for Don Henley's solo stuff (my favorite was a screwed up "I don't need you anymore" song called
Miss Ghost that no one seems to have on youtube) but I will rock karaoke to Hotel California.
Plus, a lot of the stuff I grew up listen to and remember fondly is either sappy with a good memory attached or so bad it's good.
I will still jump to my feet and bounce around the room if this comes on the radio.
Edit: Forgot to mention, you had Tim Curry's first two albums (the song "Paradise Garage" would be great for you to listen to, it makes fun of disco so wonderfully) and the original soundtrack to The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
