Borderlands 2 is a bit harder than number 1, the AI is smarter and guns and vehicles are harder to use. It does make for a different, and arguably better, experience.
I've had some pretty heavy skews in difficulty on different characters. I was getting trashed on one, started another(without even getting to skill points yet) had a much easier time. That said, now that I'm familiar with the game I'm back to the original character and Iridium is falling out of the fucking sky on me compared to any other characters.

But I love the fact the enemies react to bullets near them. Makes it a bitch to kill them, but great for herding them into grenades. I'm thinking I need some more grenades with long fuses to make it more fun.

IMO Axton's turret is a bit over-powered. Then again I haven't had much of a chance to play with it, let alone other characters.

Also, is it just me or have all weapons had their accuracy reduced (barring Hyperion, for their own reasons)? But it is nice to see the AI using a basic modicum of tactics, even if at best it is simply roll out of the way. It does make using grenades with a high area of effect (correct phrase?) fun to use.

As I level up I'm seeing some serious weapons improvements, but up till 10 at least rifles are shit, shotguns are a joke and pistols are fucking awe inspiring. Hell, my heavy weapon right now is a hyperion elemental pistol. The thing takes down anything once I can fucking hit something with it. Also Sniper rifles with 5 round burst fire... I thought it was a joke at first, then I dropped a badass in one burst. I might only have 12 shots with it, but by god each time something died.

Finally found a decent rifle with auto fire, and bursts while aiming down the sights, but I still wind up using different weapons from time to time. I'm seeing more and more interesting(and accurate) weapons outside of pistols now though, it may get better as higher level weapons are introduced.

In the low twenties now and my friends and I have been finding some great drops, like 500+ damage explosive rifle that shoots rockets. Great when fighting armored bots and such. I've been focused on rifles since I'm playing Axton, but we have each class in our group and everybody's been pretty happy with the stuff we've found. Seems like the game hits its stride around 15-20.

Eh, I don't really like playing multiplayer. I like wasting time and looking around for loot or other interesting random stuff, while in my experience most people would rather just rush through the game.

Yeah, that's a downside. But playing single-player seems very... empty. Lonely. It'd be nice if there were NPC companions, but oh well.

You may want to play on easy for a while, just so you can unlock some more ships. The game gets a little dull when you only have the Kestral and the Engi Cruiser available.

$6 for Starflight 1 and 2 on GOG, damn that's a steal. I can't remember how hours I wasted playing Starflight on my Amiga in the early 90s. I wonder if it'll work in DOSBox on my Mac, it'd be great to play it again.

Just killed some time in the X Com demo, thinking of picking it up to further build up a backlog of shit I haven't finished. Pretty brutal for a tutorial, but it gets the point across.
