Apparently Aliens guy was a guest on Joe Rogan's podcast the other day. That's like a Fukushima of crazy.

He was on about a year ago as well. Eddie Bravo was a co-guest. It was a crazy trifecta.

According to the government, I'm entitled to a private health insurance rebate. While I appreciate the gesture, I'd love to know where they got the idea that I have private health insurance in the first place when I bloody well don't.

So, yesterday morning, I get up at 4:00 am. Why? Because last week I found a nice little overlook that I thought would look great with sunrise lighting. So I gather up my tripod, Canon Rebel T2i, and backup PowerShot and take the fifteen minute drive out there. I get there just in time to capture the sun. Except…

There were a few gentle curves on the road that put it on a southwest/northeast direction without me realizing it. I still thought the road was more or less due north/south and the overlook would be looking east. Instead I was pointed southeast.

Plus I totally underestimated the effect being this close to the solstice had on the sun’s azimuth. So the sun winds up coming up like 70° from the direction I have my camera pointed and concealed by the tree-covered hillsides. By the time the sun would even be visible from this location, the beautiful orange glow would be gone, so I couldn’t even make a decent shot with just that.

So, yeah, I was disappointed. But not nearly as much as when I actually went and did a bit of research. Looks like the sun won’t come up where I want it to until November. Hope the spot looks just as good in the winter as it does in the summer.

Apparently my family is blessed with long life but not the mental faculties to endure it.

And happy Canada day to the relevant parties.

...I'm sorry for your loss, I guess, if that's what you were getting at.

Is it normal for ants to be attracted to Up & Up (Target store-brand) Fluoride Rinse? They’ve been swarming on my bathroom counter all day, mostly around that bottle.
