Title: The Donald to Run on a third party ticket
Post by: Stormwarden on January 04, 2012, 02:42:02 am

Because he thinks every other GOP candidate is out of their mind. Well, if he's going to do that, there goes the crackpot vote. Hell, he may have just costed the GOP votes. Whether it will be enough to keep Obama in office remains to be seen. But what does it say that he thinks the rest of the GOP candidates have lost it?

Volumes. The man's not exactly right in the head himself.

Like everything else he does, it's a publicity stunt.  I'm tempted to say he's doing it because the GOP has little chance this year anyway, but I doubt he honestly cares if he costs them the election.  The man's a narcissist.  So long as he gets out of this with a little more shine on his name and a few more dollars in his pocket, he's willing to scuttle the Republicans.

Yesssss, yessssss, steal the votes from the GOP and scupper them so thoroughly people are ashamed to wear red in public!

I think they already are ashamed to wear red in public.

Ironbite-but this...just wow.

It is a terrifying world when Trump actually makes sense...

It's very terrifying but then again, he's just saying what everyone is saying.  The GOP is doomed.  And there's no way to stop it's decline.  Best to get out now before the crazies finally sink it.

I'm just sitting back and watching the whole party crumble. Republicans play a better game of cutthroat with each other than any dictator could hope to dream of

It'd be funny if they weren't playing with the future of the most powerful country in the world.....as is it's mostly just scary.

Well, for that they need to get back in the presidential seat. At this point I think they've pissed off enough of the public that their chances are super slim of coming close...so long as Obama doesn't do anything stupid in the next year...which I'll bet he will, sadly

I'm still personally waiting for him to come out and say that his hair is telling him to run, so that as President, it can mind-control the entire United States.

The sad thing is, that would still be saner than what he's probably going to do.

This just in: William Shatner and Donald Trump are running together as commanded by their hairpieces.

It's meaningless. He has a new season of "Celebrity Apprentice" starting up soon and he needs to get his name back in the news as much as possible to promote it. That's what his "debate" was all about, but that fell through so he has to whore his name out any way he can now. It's like Newt's "campaign" that is, in reality, the most reported-on book tour of all time. He won't run unless someone else pays for the entire thing. Then he might just as a kind of self-promotion, but he has no intention of ever being President. He wouldn't accept the paycut. Although he would be forced to let someone else run all his businesses, which would probably be good for them, at least.

Didn't Lex Luthor once say that he wouldn't actually take the Presidency because it would be a pay cut?

Ironbite-Luthor's more honest then Newt and Trump.  And that's terrible.

Just as a side note, how did DT even come in to all of his money?  Was any of it even close to legitimate, or was it all, like the man himself, slimy, disgusting, and hazardous to children?

The "Make America Great Again Party" just sounds like another Tea Party.

IIRC, he just inherited it.

Then spent it very very wisely.  Its only recently he's been fucking around with his money.  for all the crap we give him, The Trump is a savvy businesses man.  Slimy and underhanded but he's good at what he does.

Ironbite-glad he never ran for President when the iron was hot.

Previous posters have noted his outstanding characteristic, and yes, indeedy, he's a shoo-in for the hair vote.

Inheritance to start with. Then owning a significant chunk of New York City real estate, and finally a surprisingly successful marketing effort that manages to somehow hide the fact he's been associated with more bankruptcies than the Bank of America mortgage department.

It also obscures one simple fact about Trump, which is that nobody really likes him. He's a showman by now, nothing more. But then again there are republicans who still think Colbert is for real, so I wouldn't put anything past them.

If he runs on a third party, he'll just make more Republican voters throw their votes away.

I'm okay with that.

No, no, I was clearly referring to Donald Trump, not you.  Pretty sure you're not hazardous to children.  :P

Yeah, the republican party has been caving in on itself for a while.  Still, I belive that Trump's doing all this just for publicity and nothing else.

Yeah, I'm going with the "publicity stunt" theory as well. Trump is, and always has been, a first class attention whore.

Not that I'm complaining if he leeches votes away from the GOP.

Unfortunately, even without being in the Office, they are raping the political climate and putting pressure on the one who is. So yes, their asshattery has practical consequences.

Furthermore, how will he Make America Great Again if he doesn't make an explicit promise to Take America BackTM?
