So, what does everyone think of the whole mainstream news media essentially ransacking the home of the San Benardino suspects on live tv? I think it was despicable, honestly. They fucking held driver's licenses up tothe camera. Live. What the fuck!?
-
They're becoming more and more like 19th century touts. In the race to get clicks and ratings with blood, outrage, or in this case, pseudo investigative voyeurism, all thoughts of common courtesy, common sense, common decency be damned.
-
It's disgraceful.
-
See now this is actual ethics in journalism. Not what Goobly Gook is. An ethical reporter wouldn't have gone into anyone's home and messed around with a crime scene. They would've shot footage of an on site reporter from the front lawn at closest and from the sidewalk and farthest. But no, now it's all about ratings.
Ironbite-sad to see how far the news media has fallen.
-
And then people wonder why I don't watch TV news.
-
Journalists are going to be untrustworthy and unethical by default. It's practically in the job description.
The real question here is "where the fuck are the police?". That shit has got to be illegal even in 'murica.

The LEOs had already torn through the apartment to seize evidence. When they were done, they left it unsecured by handing possession back to the landlord. Who then caved in to the whining (or perhaps bribery?) of a herd of reporters. The female shooter's mother's ID was shown on camera by an MSNBC reporter, amongst other things. Just FUBAR.
-
Conty, stop being agreeable. ...Because journalism hasn't been honest for generations. I'm more surprised that this actually got reported on, I'd have figured they'd have buried it like everything else even remotely shameful.
-
The MSNBC debacle was broadcast live. TV reporters have unique opportunities to fuck up and then their producers (who are directing them live via earpiece the whole time) say, "Ooops! Our bad. We'll reprimand the reporter."
-
Saying that this is part of job description for journalists is like saying that it's ok for politicians to take bribes since many of them do.
Besides journalism isn't this bad all over the world.

Give it a few more years. Yeah, I'm a jaded fuck when it comes to the media.

Never said it was OK. Just saying that it's a profession that appeals to amoral subhumans by its' very nature.
-
Not really. I know a few Journalists and politicians and they aren't all bad.

i totally get the first sentence. but why the hell would you call the cops on them? they're just as crooked! i almost completely agreed with you on this one.

... uh, um... not quite. journalists are professionnal shit-stirrers. sometimes, that happens to be useful. regarding politicians, nope not ok.
i guess i must give credit to finnish journalists if you say that, because journalism is a byword for corruption and a total lack of ethics over here.

Whether Conty was talking about crime scene security or that this was truly an invasion of a private home - in this case, part of the estate of the deceased until probate releases it to an heir, or releases it to a state asset seizure action - he had a good point.
