In June, Beale used a promotional SFWA Twitter feed, @SFWAauthors, to publish remarks he made on his blog, where he called another author “half-savage” and an editor a “fat frog,” among other inflammatory remarks.

About time, is all I can say.

First read from the Sensuous Curmudgeon (http://sensuouscurmudgeon.wordpress.com/2013/08/14/ted-beale-vox-day-expelled-from-sfwa).

Who the fuck? was he kicked out for messing with the twitter feed or was there other things that led to this?

Good riddance, Beale! You were a lot less fun than that other Beale....they were as mad as hell & they just couldn't take you anymore!

Kudos to the SFWA! I guess they came to their senses like that electronica group Beale-The-Eel was once a part of!

Who is this guy and why should anyone care?

If I remember correctly, Vox Day is a horribly bigoted blogger who's reached a rather unfortunate level of e-fame and notoriety for, to put it bluntly, being the human equivalent of a pile of cold, runny bullshit.

Yeah, Vox Day is a horrible misogynistic bastard (he has boasted about hitting women and said that female soldiers could not fight a troop of boy scouts). His quotes have been posted on the FSTDT main page frequently.

Just go to the fstdt main site and put Vox Day into the search engine if you want to see just how bloody depraved the "holy spirit" has made him.

He's also fairly racist, hates atheists, and, if I recall correctly, has made a few trans and homophobic remarks.

Just searched him. I've heard that he's a misogynist, but I was not prepared for just how depraved he is. I'd say he's one of the worst bigots against everything ever to be featured on FSTDT.

He also seems to believe that women are literally some kind of inhuman species with the bones of a chicken, the skin of a jellyfish, & muscles like that of an infant's leg, who have to hide behind men to keep from being utterly destroyed by a slight breeze.

What makes people like Vox Day so terrifying is that unlike the typical youtube commenter, they are clearly well educated and at least know how to form an argument (they put some thought into what they are saying).  But instead of using their education to promote positive values, they want to push us back several hundred years.  And because they are educated and can come across as intelligent, all the more people will buy into their dangerous views.

It's the same reason I hate apologetics.  They attempt to give credence to their outdated views.

It's also a good lesson in how intelligence isn't one dimensional. You can be clever enough go through all kinds of mental gymnastics in order to justify your stance while still being too stupid to understand why you're wrong.

I wish some sort of study could be done on this guy to find out exactly why someone would grow up with such twisted backwards views.

Also Atheism Exposed appears to be a fan of him as well since he has a link to Vox's blog on his own.

No surprise there.

Does he argue about things other than religious values & female competence? Because I've easily seen YouTube bigots more impressive than he is. His arguments seem to go like this:

Step 1: Find someone minding their own goddamn business.
Step 2: Berate them for no reason, misrepresenting them, nitpicking their arguments, & making some ridiculous, hyperbolic claim that is bound to be proven wrong just because it's so damn absurd. Anecdotes are the only form of evidence that you should rely on.
Step 3: Don't forget the cognitive dissonance. Be sure to play both sides of the field. Even as you call for deaths or say you don't care, make sure everyone knows that you're just doing this for the good of everyone else, & especially the people you want to see die &/or don't care about.
Step 5: Wait for someone to call you on your bullshit, employ the same method, along with a back-pedal that is blatantly obvious to everyone but your own supporters.
Step 6: Go fishing for more comments if your inbox is low.

Most YouTubers can at least utilize basic pseudoscience.

Serves him right!

He's a fundie, a misogynist, a pseudo-intellectual, a terrible writer, and his username is nonsense.
