Think that one's a repost...still retarded, though.

I get what you're trying to say here, but...really?  If I had my way, prostitution would be just like booze: legalized, regulated, and taxed.  You fuck who you want, when you want, where you want, and for whatever reason you want...so long as there's consent on all sides, its not an issue.

There's a difference between the government forcing its cock into every woman's vagina, and giving them the option to get free contraceptives.  PERSPECTIVE, MOTHERFUCKER!  DO YOU HAVE IT?

I'm confused and have a general distaste for political comics.

I don't make a habit of remembering the names of political cartoonists, no.

She's not a cartoonist, she testified to congress about birth control. And then Rush Limbaugh called her a slut, a prostitute, ect. So the cartoon is calling her a prostitute, but she isn't actually one.

Aaaaaah.  I'll admit...I'm probably at least a bit more disconnected from politics than most other posters.  Not one of my interests, really...  >.>

So, basically this is saying that only women benefit from tax-supported contraceptives as a form of preventative medicine... who exactly are these women having sex with if not men!?

Or is it simply that women should happily live in a paradoxical world where if they don't have sex they get raped, and if they do have sex they get pregnant, but they're still expected to be available to men, because men having sex is normal and necessary?

It's important to keep in mind that the religious right wing of the Republican is based on a religion where the idealized woman is the one who gets pregnant without having sex.

Actually, she wasn't asking for the government to pay. She was asking her university to pay (they are legally obliged to, but want to avoid it because they're Catholic).

You think these people pay attention to trifling things such as facts?

I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

Use of birth control, including emergency contraceptives = Responsible family planning.
Self-esteem = Choosing to engage in or refrain from sex based on your personal beliefs and what you want in life, rather than what other people tell you.
Reputation = Only important if it's based upon traits that actually matter. Whether or not a woman enjoys sex shouldn't factor in to the amount of respect people show her.

And it's interesting how we don't see all that many cartoons talking about men taking responsibility when it comes to sex.

When I originally saw this cartoon, I thought it was a parody of abstinence-only education.

I'd like to think the artist is just jealous and that none of these so called loose women want to sleep with him.

Joking aside, they're abhorent.
