In case you haven't heard of it, the LFTR is a new type of nuclear power using Thorium-232 instead of Uranium-238. IT also has molten NaF which is used as the salt.

It is expected to produce the energy of coal, oil, and uranium nuclear power plants at a small fraction of the material used. It also produces a whole lot less waste and is extremely efficient, with many safety features.

Apparently it has been worked on for decades but always scrapped.

I find this very interesting and feel like it is worth discussing and looking into.
