This is an amazing essay by Chauncey DeVega. It's really long, but I just wanted to share it with you.

It does an excellent job of tying in the sudden swings to the right that the GOP is making with the fact that white male privilege is going through a crisis.

I'm reading through it right now, and my initial reaction is just about as you'd expect: "Oh no, we're losing our ability to control everything!"

And I am very proud to be one of the causes of that crisis :D

And the article very accurately hits this on the head and has been my assessment of the Tea Party and modern conservativism for years (that they are a thinly vieled response to our growing and more multi-cultural society).
