Pretty interesting playlist I found about the right to free speech and the right to offend.  Now normally I'd put this in the WSJ thread but I decided it deserved it's own topic.

Ironbite-love Brenden O'Neil's speech.

I firmly support the right to offend.  Nine times out of ten, offense is taken, not given.

Christians are child molesters, gamers are misogynistic, transphobic, entitled dudebros and you're a conservative.

Also, reviewers and game makers have the right to sexual privacy, people can be sincerely repentant and miserable even if theyre not on your side of a particular debacle and Koei Tecmo is governed by cowards.

If you were offended by that, it's not my fault. You chose to be offended.

For the record, I have not explicitly mentioned "that movement".

"you are decidedly homely-looking".

seriously, what can you answer to that? it may be a childish put-down, but i've yet to find a satisfactory comeback.

also, here's some offense for you. i'm feeling generous.

i dunno, it seems too close to "i'm rubber, you're glue" to me. perhaps a swift kick to the testicles as a rebuttal? loudly saying, "what? you enjoy ejaculating in dogs?!" bonus points if it's to a girl, if only for the brain bleach factor. let's keep the brainstorm alive, it seems a good one to think on.

I'm opposed to kicks to the testicles, and only partially because of their limited demographic applicability.

Oh, you kick a female in the crotch, she's gonna fall down crying in pain, too. Also, a punch in the tit is agonizing.

I sympathize completely. However, to use against us. Let me ask you a troll. On the one who pulled it. But here's the question: where do I think it might as well have stepped out of all people would cling to a layman.

Yes, but it's not "a  kick to the testicles" in the technical sense

(I'm generally against kicking people, in the crotch or otherwise).

you're no fun. what else is there to watch on youtube but idiots wrapping their bait and tackle around poles, feet, railings, balls, bikes, tree branches, trees, knuckles, door handles, skateboards, boats, fish...

but ok, if you so wish, let's rephrase that to "human critical damage area", thereby including the female genitalia, the throat, and the face.

I'm waiting for the thread that gets derailed in the opening post, and if things keep going the way they're going I don't think I'll have to wait long.

It's happened before a number of times, and no doubt we'll see more of it in the future.
