The RIAA is useless, blames Google

Everyone – including Google – knows that the worst sites are repopulated with links to infringing files of the same content as quickly as links are taken down.  For example, in a recent one month period, we sent Google, and the site in question, multiple DMCA notices concerning over 300 separate unauthorized copies of the same musical recording owned by one of our member companies.  Yet that song is still available on that site today, and we reached it via a search result link indexed by Google.  This highlights the futility of the exercise:  if “take down” does not mean “keep down,” then Google’s limitations merely perpetuate the fraud wrought on copyright owners by those who game the system under the DMCA.

BBBAAAAWWWWWW we can’t stop people from uploading filez, better censor Google! What a bunch of clowns. What makes this situation utterly hilarious:

• Google has automated software to praise and remove links, this software can handle thousands of links but that is not enough for the RIAA.
• The RIAA has been playing wack-a-mole with file sharing sites and completely ignoring bittorrent. Link to or file gets taken down, file get reuploaded. The RIAA has to pay people to search and report links, talk about job security.
• They actually fuck-up requests too! And can get hit with false DMCA fines as well.
• legendarydevils.com (A rapid share link forum) has been targeted more by EVERYONE than thepiratebay.se, isohunt.com, bitsnoop.com, btjunkie.org and torrentreactor.net combined!
• When compared to EVERYBODY else Microsoft has been doing the best job at trying (and failing) to stop piracy.
• This is a really good resource when looking for filez. After all, where there is smoke there is fire!
