Just in case you didn't know Nikola Tesla was awesome and Thomas Edison was a dickweed, Matthew Inman is here to fill you in.

WARNING: Contains prejudice against Laser Pigeons.

EDIT: And the sequel: http://theoatmeal.com/blog/tesla_response

But I doubt you included the response to the response, even if that's the case, since it was posted only five days ago.

Nikola Tesla is a personal hero of mine...

When I was in Niagara last September, I made a pilgrimage to the building that had been his original hydroelectric generating station. I was saddened because you have to know where it is in order to find it - ther should be enormous (hydroelectrically powered...) neon signs indicating its location. OK, there is the bronze statue of him on Goat Island, but it's not enough!

I'm surprised that The Oatmeal, er, exposition does not mention Tesla's interest in scalar energy, in particular zero point energy. He apparently removed the gasoline engine from a Pierce-Arrow automobile and replaced it with an AC motor that was driven by zero point energy.
Part wolf, part pirate.
