In an effort to cause a scandal and defame the Republican candidate Jake Rush Saintpetesblog wrote an article about his hobbies which apparently contain elements "ranging from the silly and mild to unsettling portrayals of bizarre, ritualistic scenes of the occult, book burnings." Apparently role playing games have gained at least some acceptance amongst the religious because they specifically state that this "...is not some teenager playing Dungeons and Dragons in his mom’s basement."

...Seriuously though, he wrote a pretty good article and even though I'm not suprised that even politicians include LARPers and gamers it is not particularly common thing either.

He is from Florida so I tried to at least find a quote of him defending George Zimmerman or something. Couldn't find anything directly related to that but his website does say this:

Jake is a Constitutional lawyer and has participated in civil trial work, civil rights, and criminal defense, including standing up for gun rights by successfully defending the 1st Stand Your Ground case in North Central Florida.

Also, he has worked for the local sheriffs office and was selected into SWAT team before going to law school.

I'm actually acquainted with Jake. I used to be in the same gaming organization (MES). While playing, yes, people can, have, and will say and write lots of things that *clears throat* THEIR CHARACTER would say/do. Once the game ends, we're all real people. Jake is one of the nicest people I've met through that club, and while I am politically nearly his opposite, I think that people are trying to make something out of nothing here. Do you think that "Uncle Arnold" should be held accountable for what he did in his movies when he runs for political office? Same thing, only with emails showing things that characters did, instead of film reels.

The woman he's with (I'm assuming wife?) does not look happy to have her picture taken dressed like that. In my 13.5 years of marriage I've seen that look before.
