Awesome. Suppose Hawaii will be jealous that they're not the only island state anymore?

A lot of people in Hawaii aren't exactly happy to be a state in the first place...

Disclaimer: I realize that post above was mostly joking. Just felt like pointing out that Texas isn't the only state wanting to secede.

It's nice of Bill to continue sharing his insights.  I was afraid he might reluctant after his observation on tides.

I'd personally like to see Puerto Rico as a state mostly because they aren't ever going to go independent, but they are large enough to do so (Unlike say Guam). Just hanging out as a commonwealth feels really... weird to me.
The material needs a defender more than the spiritual. If there is a higher power, it can defend itself from the material. Thus denotes 'higher power'.

Won't happen. Republicans fear anything that's not white thinking they'll vote democrat

From last night, thanks To Bill O'Reilly:

Can we trade Texas for Puerto Rico?  I think having a nice round 50 states is nice and well we don't really need Texas....

The GOP are fucked either way. Either they:

A) vote for statehood, and risk giving the Democrats 3 free electoral votes

B) vote against statehood, pissing off Hispanic voters in the US even more than they already have
^this.

Ironbite-Purto Rico really put the GOP between a rock and an even harder place.

My pick: the next Democratic presidential candidate will be either a not-Hillary woman, a Hispanic from Florida or anyone-but-Biden.

The Republicans will pick Chris Christie or perhaps Rock Santorum, lose, and be even moar butthurt. Presuming Obama doesn't drive everybody into double-dip recession with the stupid self-imposed fiscal cliff thing, unemployment will trend down until full employment and the next election will be fought on morning in America.

Them's my picks.

I'm rooting for Elizabeth Warren 2016.  It just feels so right.

If they nominated Martin O'Malley, it would go down to the wire.

This is the Puerto Rico thread, not the 2016 Election thread. Please stay on topic.
